Technology is something I have always enjoyed and this Christmas I was blessed with a new Mac Air and the learning curve begins again. Switching from a PC to a Mac is interesting, challenging and sometimes confusing but incredibly fascinating to me. I am learning that the more I invest in learning, the more I can invest in the lives of others. To learn is a great gift and we should use it wisely. Sharpening our minds, our intellect with new skills and information is a wonderful companion as the aging process continues. I enjoy sharing what I learn with others, especially if is worthwhile! I looked around the Apple store today and there was a small sea of grey heads, a true indication that the generations ahead of me are embracing this gift full force. So cool! One couple was in their late 70's if not early 80's purchasing their very first computer. Kudos to them!
I also want to learn how to take my hobby of knitting to the next level and increase my skill set. Now for many that might sound rather boring but the world of fibers is expanding to new horizons and knitting is no longer for just the grannies:). Most of these desires to learn come from wanting to improve myself and not push the hold button on the experience of education. The women who are further down the road of life have modelled great enriching learning experiences to me and I value their zest for living and their desire to continually stretch their minds to new opportunities.
What is the headline for your year? Perhaps fill in the blank: 2012 will be the Year of ______. In twelve months perhaps we can share notes about what we have accomplished. I am excited to hear what you will choose! Write me and tell me.
Leave the past in the past as you move into the future in 2012. Embrace it with a zest for living
