I wonder if within organizations and companies, if we took the time to empower our employees and coworkers to schedule a perfect day once a month, how much more productive we would be. I think when we have something to look forward to, our whole demeanour and outlook on work changes especially if for one day, what we think and value is given top priority. Someone wants to hear our opinions, look at something we are interested in and the energy tank now gets filled up again with enthusiasm and new vision.
Just think of the new creative strategic thinking that would take place if this happened! Imagine if there was a quarterly team building day where people of like ideas came together to unify their ideas. The energy level and productivity around the company would soar.
Knowing that we are valued and given the opporunity to replenish our "tank" makes such a huge difference in the moral of a company or organization. Everyone likes to be heard, and valued even it is only for a few hours a month.
Perhaps if you have an evaluation scheduled in your new future, raise this idea and see where it goes. Sometimes all you have to do is make "ask" to have it happen!
