How would you answer these questions:
1. What is influencing the process you are wanting to take for your church?
2. What informs the process?
Do you really know the DNA of your Mission, your Vision and your Value? This is a starting point of assessing where you need to develop a strong foundation. Once that foundation is developed, it provdes the Framework for creating the measurables for your church. The best made plans are useless unless they are implemented well and effectively. Knowing who you are, why your church was placed in your community, your needs, and how you want to obey the Great Commission are all essential pieces of building a strong church for redemptive purposes Once you develop your strategy and know how you are going to implement it, you need to regularly review whether or not it is working and tweak it to make it more effective. If the measurables are not there to make it stay on track with the intentional plan you have no way of assessing your data.
Many pastors have a heart for their people. Teaching and preaching are the reason they were called to this passion but you definitely need to have some business skills in order to help shape your church and lead it in an effective way that will bring honour and glory to Him and allow you to live out the vision He has called you to fullfil.
