We have just finished a great vacation on the lovely island of Hilton Head. It was a time for rest and relaxation and time to be together with two of our daughters. On this holiday, there was a phrase that continued with me to the end of the vacation time : " Be loud and proud". My wonderful American friends are amazing with their courage, their patronage and their overwhelming sense of strength in their united citizenship. As a Canadian, we are not quite as public about our heritage, our pride and the community that we form. If I were to take this one level deeper, I do not think we are even as vocal and open about who we are as community of those who call themselves Christ Followers. I admire how open, and easily a believer in the United States of America shares their deep faith and love for the Lord. I am saddened to think that Canadians do not have the same openness to share their beliefs. If the conversation rolls around to our faith, or convictions, I have noticed we hesitate or leak out tidbits of information almost to hide what is the rock of our lives. Oh how we need to step up to the plate and take notice of our brothers and sisters and "be loud and proud". May we NEVER be reluctant to say what we believe, and how we have so much to be thankful for and why.
During the past few weeks, our American friends have travelled through adversity beyond words with the loss of lives in Boston and Texas and so many have life long injuries as reminders. They will rise up and the Lord who has observed it all will be their source of strength in the days ahead. May we always invite him into the smallest and biggest of details in our lives. May we always be loud and proud about what we believe and why we know we can move forward with unshakable faith.
My prayer as a daughter of the King, is that I will always be loud and proud to share my faith. May I always be listening to the nudges of the Holy Spirit when the opportunity to share my story happens in the moment. I am so thankful for the life he has given me, the privilege to serve him and I ask that you do the same..... It is time for us all
