My routine had been to rest from work so by Friday night my energy level was completely exhausted and I needed the weekend to just recooperate from a very busy work week. You may think, well what is the difference? I find when you actually take a Sabbath, a day of complete rest in our busy society and use that time to recharge and revitalize body, mind and spirit we can start the work week with much more energy. I went back to work excited because I was rested and prepared to be more efficient. So when you work from rest your attitude is much more positive than when you rest from work which is view as a the end result with leaving you no postive time to recharge.
I grew up with the mentality that time to play and do fun things in life, was a reward only after working hard. You could not enjoy hobbies, or nature until everything work related was done, which then resulted in " Play time" really just being commatose before the television in comparison to scheduled recreation time which is intentional and purposeful .If you really practise true play time it will feed your soul. We all know if you feed your soul, your body and your mind will be working as a much more effcient creation. One of my Life Coaches has this phrase penned on his bulletin board " I want to be where I am when I'm there". So your attitude wil definitely be in the forefront when you adapt this philosphy.
So I challenge you to start next week from rest and start being fully present in your play time without the distraction of the office. Yes, you can really turn off your blackberry!
